WARSAW – the capital of Poland with population of 1,7 mln is an economic, political and
cultural centre. Warsaw is a city full of astonishing contrasts and it never ceases to amazes
with its magnitude of dimensions and themes which are there to be discovered, absorbed
and understood by the inqusitive. The symbol of the city is the Mermaid, featured on the
city seal. The dominating silhouette of the city centre belongs to the Palace of Culture and
Science, which today shares the skyline with numerous office towers.
The Old Town – the historical centre of Warsaw, was painstatingly restored after the World
War II to its former splendour and is now included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Nowadays,
Warsaw is Poland's most cosmopolitan, dynamic and modern city. Whether you are
interested in theatre, museums, shopping, good food you will find something just for you.
Arrival in Warsaw, transfer from the Okecie-Airport
to hotel. In the afternoon – sightseeing of the city. Warsaw
is known as the city of palaces, gardens and grand parks.
Many aristocratic residences and mansions are located
near the city centre. We'll visit the Royal Castle – the official
residence of Polish monarchs. It is located in the Castle
Square, at the entrance to the Warsaw Old Town. In its
long history the Royal Castle was repeatedly devastated
and plundered by Swedish, Branderburgian, German and
Russian armies. Between 1926 and World War II the palace
was the seat of Polish president. Today it is a historical and
national monument and is listed as a national museum. -

After breakfast we continue our sightseeing of
Warsaw. Visit to the Lazienki Park, the largest park in
Warsaw occupying 76 hectares of the city center. The park
and palace complex was designed by Domenico Merlini, Johann
Kammsetzer and landscape gardener Jan Christian
Schuch. Its principal buildings stand beside or near the Lazienki
Lake and Lazineki River. The King Stanislaw August's
palace is situated on the lake and is known as the 'Palace
on the Water'. It was summer residence of the last king of
Poland and it is one of the most outstanding examples of
the style of his epoch.
We'll visit also the Frederic Chopin Museum. The museum
covers the history and works of Chopin and includes original
manuscripts and documents written by the composer,
photographs and sculptures of him and letters. Refurbished
for the 200th anniversery / 2010 / of F.Chopin birth,
this multimedia museum is one of the most modern museums
in Poland. The last point of the sightseeing is the visit
on the 30th floor of the Palace of Culture and Science. It
is a well-known tourist attraction with a panoramic view
of the city. The palace is 231 metres tall which includes the
height of the spire of 43 metres. There are 3288 rooms on
42 floors, with an overall area of 123 000 m2.
